WHAT WE DO
Developing the Young Workforce Inverness & Central Highland (DYWICH) builds meaningful links between employers and schools to help prepare young people for the world of work.
INSPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE – #NeverThoughtAboutThat
We work closely with schools and local employers to give young people access to the information, experiences and support they need to explore career pathways and develop the skills to succeed.
We help young people to:
- Access work inspiration, work experience and apprenticeship opportunities
- Meet employers to understand how their subjects relate to the real world
- Make informed and inspired career choices – linking with jobs for the future
- Gain employability skills – CV building, participating in mock interviews, writing personal statements
- Understand how to find and apply for jobs
SUPPORTING EMPLOYERS – #GrowingOurOwn
Local employers play a vital role in shaping the workforce of the future. At DYWICH, we connect businesses with young people across Inverness and the Central Highlands, creating opportunities that benefit both employers and the next generation of talent.
Ways to get involved:
- Recruit an Apprentice – nurture talent and invest in your future workforce
- Offer a Work-Related Project – inspire young minds and share real-world insights
- Become a School Partner – support skill development and build confidence
- Promote Your Industry – raise awareness of career opportunities in your sector

We support parents and carers by:
- Simplifying career pathways
- Supporting your child to explore their interests and aspirations
